Neal A. Weinstein has a broad commercial real estate practice that emphasizes acquisitions, tax-free exchanges, dispositions and financings of commercial properties throughout the country. His clients include major public companies and leading developers with respect to all aspects of large-scale residential and mixed-use development projects, including site acquisition, construction financing, joint venture formation and public offerings of condominiums and community associations. Neal also has extensive experience in office, retail, industrial and net leasing on behalf of both domestic and international owners and tenants on a nationwide basis.
Recently, Neal led the G&F team involved in acquiring 130 West 12th Street in Manhattan and the related construction loan by JP Morgan Chase. Upon completion of the offering, the project will be a 44-unit luxury condominium building. He also led the team handling the 246,000-square foot office lease for Avon's new national headquarters at 777 Third Avenue, New York City. Outside of New York City, Neal headed the G&F team handling the recent acquisition, joint venture and financing of a 256-unit residential townhouse project in Dobbs Ferry, New York. As part of G&F's commitment to the local community, Neal recently represented, on a pro bono basis, the Drawing Center and Central Park Conservancy with respect to several recent transactions.
Neal has been with Goldfarb & Fleece since 1986, becoming a partner in 1990. Prior to joining Goldfarb & Fleece, he practiced in the real estate department of Graubard Moskovitz McGoldrick Dannett & Horowitz in Manhattan.
Neal is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York (former member, real estate section subcommittee on condominiums and cooperatives), the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia and the International Council of Shopping Centers. He has been awarded an AV Preeminent 5.0 out of 5 rating by Martindale-Hubbell and was named a "Super Lawyer" in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
