In 1929, Stanley S. Goldfarb and Charles Fleece set out to build a law practice based on the values they held most dear: trust, respect, family, loyalty, and service. In doing so, they built a firm that would grow and prosper with their clients for years to come. In the decades since, Goldfarb & Fleece has become one of the preeminent commercial real estate firms based in New York City.
Goldfarb & Fleece understands the real estate business. Our practical business acumen, combined with our extensive legal experience, allows Goldfarb & Fleece to bring a creative yet practical approach to each transaction. We manage to balance the legal issues of a sophisticated real estate transaction with the goal of closing the deal under the most favorable terms and conditions.
Goldfarb & Fleece prides itself in having close working relationships with our clients, which include the Rudin family, one of the oldest and most prestigious real estate families in New York, The Benenson Capital Company, Cardinal Capital Partners, Inc., Oaktree Capital Management, LLC, The Forest City Ratner Companies, Vornado Realty Trust, The Jack Parker Partner Corporation, The Westfield Group, Avon Products, Inc., Universal Music Group, Laurence A. Tisch & Preston R. Tisch, Alfred Weissman Real Estate, Inc., Lever Cosmetics International and WCI Communities, Inc. We've maintained many of our client relationships over decades, spanning several generations of attorneys at the firm.
Goldfarb & Fleece's real estate practice covers a wide variety of commercial transactions. In addition to office, commercial and retail leasing, Goldfarb & Fleece has represented clients nationwide in a wide variety of transactions involving
significant commercial, retail, and residential properties, including major office buildings, telecom facilities, shopping centers, airports, large apartment buildings and residential communities. The firm has significant expertise in all the elements needed to make such projects a success, including site assemblage, acquisitions, construction and permanent financing, construction contracts, leases and condominium, cooperative and homeowners association offering plans. We have also developed a significant expertise in IRC section 1031 exchange transactions involving net leased properties.
Over the last four years, Goldfarb & Fleece has become one of the leaders in developing the agreements defining and shaping how the telecommunications industry interacts with the real estate community, and a growing portion of our practice is devoted to this emerging field.
Many of today's sophisticated real estate transactions require the integration of many disciplines, including zoning, environmental impact, tax impact, architecture, engineering, construction management, telecommunications, and relocation. We assist our clients in the coordination of these disciplines to best evaluate the practical real estate issues involved as they relate to the legal obligations to be negotiated. To this end, we also have developed a network of local counsel in practically every state of the country.
In addition to our real estate practice, Goldfarb & Fleece has a small, sophisticated trusts and estates department, which advises its clients concerning a wide variety of personal, family, and estate planning matters.
